Relive James Paxton’s memorable no-hitter with Rick Rizzs’ call

May 9, 2018, 11:44 AM

A week after a dominant 16-strikeout performance against the Oakland Athletics, Mariners’ lefty James Paxton pitched a brilliant no-hitter – the sixth in franchise history – in a 5-0 win over the Blue Jays.

Despite playing a road game, the Canadian-born Paxton received a standing ovation from Toronto fans.

It’s a phenomenal sports feat and a moment Mariners fans won’t soon forget.

The calls from a few of the games’ most memorable moments are captured in the montage embedded above. Among those moments? Kyle Seager’s clutch dive and throw in the seventh to keep the no-hitter alive.

“In the moment it was just so surreal,” Paxton told Brock and Salk during an interview with 710 ESPN Seattle. “It was almost like I was dreaming.”
