The Seahawks lost two big targets for Russell Wilson when Paul Richardson and tight end Jimmy Graham signed elsewhere in free agency. Saturday, they started replenishing the wide receiver group by signing Jaron Brown.

To re-capture NFC West, Seahawks need investment on offense

Here’s a quick rundown on the newest Seahawk:

• Brown, 28, has spent his entire five-year career with the Arizona Cardinals. He originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson.

• After a torn ACL ended his 2016 season, Brown returned in 2017 and posted a career-high 31 catches for 477 and four touchdowns. He also put in work on special teams.

• Brown lived in Italy as a young child before his family settled in South Carolina. He and his wife, Ashley, have one daughter. When it comes to hobbies, Brown calls himself a gamer, and lists FIFA and Call of Duty as his go-to’s: “At home I’m just playing with my family and my daughter, she’s awesome. Other than that, video games. I’m just like any other guy.”

• Brock said the Seahawks’ appear to value size with their recent free agent acquisitions: “They’re all good sized guys. These are not little guys … They check a lot of the boxes when it comes to the size and the speed.” Brown may not have Paul Richardson’s speed, but he can still be a deep threat at 6-feet-2, 210 lbs.

• John Clayton says Brown could be a sleeper: “I think Jaron Brown’s kind of a sleeper in this because he really did a good job last year. And it’s funny … he was the guy who a lot of times you thought was John Brown, but it was really Jaron … He’s kind of a sleepy good receiver who can do some things.”
