Seemingly ever since Pete Carroll arrived in Seattle in 2010, the offensive line has been a point of consternation for the Seahawks. Just before Carroll took over the franchise, however, the team had an anchor that kept the line solified.

That anchor was Walter Jones, the Seahawks’ top pick in the 1997 NFL Draft who went on to nine Pro Bowls in a 13-year, Hall of Fame career with Seattle.

On the latest episode of John Clayton’s Schooled, which you can listen to here, Jones joined The Professor to talk about what it takes to build an offensive line in the present day NFL and specifically the challenges facing the Seahawks this season and beyond as it pertains to protecting franchise quarterback Russell Wilson and creating lanes for the Seattle running game.

John Clayton’s Schooled is a weekly podcast featuring in-depth interviews about key issues in the game of football with well-known names from the NFL. You can find a new podcast each Thursday on the podcast page of 710Sports.com, on the 710 ESPN Seattle app, or by subscribing on iTunes.
