John Clayton thinks the Seahawks will consider guard Robert Gallery

In Thursday’s Cold Hard Facts, John Clayton said he expects the Seahawks to be among the teams to pursue guard Robert Gallery, who has told the Raiders that he’ll become a free agent rather than re-sign with Oakland.
A Raiders executive told the Associated Press that Gallery (pictured above) was seeking about $8 million per season, well over the $2.5 million the team was willing to offer.
“If the price is right I think there’s no question that Gallery would be one of the main left guards that they would be looking at,” Clayton said.
Seattle’s offensive line was in constant flux last season, especially at both guard spots.
“That’s why I think all along the thought would be if you need two guards, you can’t get two guards out of the draft unless you wanna lose,” Clayton said. “And so you have to sign one from free agency and (select) another from the pool of guys in the draft.”
Gallery, 30, played for new Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable, who worked in the same capacity with the Raiders before becoming Oakland’s head coach.
If Lawyer Milloy (pictured at right) decides to return for a 16th NFL season, Clayton thinks the Seahawks will re-sign the 37-year-old safety.
“They’ll to have to wait and see what the cap is going to be, and if there’s going to be minimum exceptions for salaries and stuff like that,” Clayton said. “But I think if he wants to come back, they’ll have him back.”
Clayton said he thinks the Seahawks are working on a deal with defensive end Raheem Brock, who set a career-high with nine sacks last season.
The list of Seattle’s free agents Clayton doesn’t expect to be back includes cornerback Kelly Jennings, tackle Sean Locklear, center Chris Spencer and linebacker Leroy Hill.
