The Seahawks’ backfield won’t be empty. It won’t be as full as Seattle likes, though, as Thomas Rawls was announced as being among the team’s seven inactive players for Sunday’s game against the 49ers.

Rawls suffered an injury to his lower leg in the first half of last week’s game in Los Angeles. Coach Pete Carroll indicated it was to a muscle in his shin area.

Rookie running back C.J. Prosise is inactive for the second consecutive week. He suffered a broken bone in his hand, and while he has been able to practice, he is wearing a protective device on his hand, which affects his ability to handle the ball.

With Rawls out, Christine Michael is expected to start and rookie Alex Collins will be a backup. Terrence Magee was promoted from the practice squad on Saturday, and will also be in uniform. He will be wearing No. 43.

Rawls did not practice this week and for that reason he was listed as doubtful on Friday though Carroll held out hope that he would be able to run on Saturday and could be available.

The full list of inactive players: Prosise (hand), Rawls (leg), DB Tyvis Powell, OL Rees Odhiambo, OL Germain Ifedi (ankle), TE Nick Vannett (ankle), DL Quinton Jefferson.

San Francisco’s inactives: QB Christian Ponder, CB Marcus Cromartie, RB DuJuan Harris, DT Tony Jerod-Eddie, OL John Theus, OL Anthony Davis (concussion), DL Ronald Blair.
