With Thomas Rawls doubtful for Sunday’s game against the 49ers, the Seahawks added running back Terrence Magee to the 53-man roster on Saturday to help out in their thin backfield.
Seattle had an open roster spot after releasing fullback Will Tukuafu on Wednesday, the same day it signed Magee and added him to the practice squad.
The 23-year-old Magee is in his second NFL season out of LSU. He appeared in four games with the Ravens last season, rushing for five yards on two carries and making a two-yard catch on his lone target. He was with the Rams during the offseason.
At LSU, Magee rushed for 571 yards on 112 attempts and caught 17 passes for 171 yards in 13 games as senior in 2014. He also had 626 yards on 86 carries as a junior. Though he started and finished his college career in the backfield, he was primarily a wide receiver during his sophomore year, and could provide the Seahawks help in passing down situations with rookie C.J. Prosise questionable for Sunday with a hand injury he suffered in Week 1.
