The Mariners recalled left-handed reliever David Rollins ahead of Saturday’s game against the Blue Jays and placed shortstop Ketel Marte on the 15-day disabled list.

The Marte move was expected after manager Scott Servais revealed Friday that the 22 year old had been diagnosed with mono. It’s the second DL stint for Marte this season, who earlier in the year sprained his thumb.

Rollins has been up and down between the Mariners and Triple-A Tacoma throughout the season, but he has performed well in his limited time in the majors. The 26 year old has appeared in eight games with Seattle, seven of which have been scoreless outings. He has allowed three runs on seven hits and six walks over 6 2/3 innings for a 4.05 ERA and 1.95 WHIP. He also has five strikeouts.
