Ticket reimbursement for fans at Mariners’ Opening Night

If you were at the Mariners Opening Night game last Friday and got stuck in long concession lines, you get free tickets to a future game.
The Mariners say the software system that operates the
cash registers and processes credit cards at Safeco Field
failed. The system eventually rebooted, but not until the
eighth inning.
“We always want our fans to have a positive experience
with the Seattle Mariners and Safeco Field. What happened
Friday night was unacceptable and I offer my sincere
apology to all of the fans who suffered through the long
lines and inconvenience. The guest experience on Opening
Night was nowhere close to meeting our standards and we
want to make it up to our fans,” Mariners president and COO Chuck Armstrong said in a statement.
“We promise our fans that we will get to the bottom of what caused the failure so that it doesn’t happen again. We hope our fans will give us a second chance to provide a great experience at Safeco Field,” Armstrong said.
There were no problems with the system on Saturday or
Sunday.
If you qualify, you have 18 home games in April and May to choose from. You’ll get seats in the same area you had on Opening Night, the games you can choose from start April 18, and each make-up ticket will include $5 credit to be redeemed at any of the concession stands.
Fans will receive emails from the Mariners with all of the details. Fans who were at the game can claim their free tickets by showing their ticket stub or proof of purchase at any Mariners team store or the Safeco Field box office.
