When you’re 6-foot-4 and 335 pounds, it can be tough to find clothes that fit. And there’s word a lot of the NFL’s biggest guys are unhappy with the league’s new form-fitting uniforms.

The Nike-made uniforms are intentionally tight, but for the largest of players, they accentuate some of the bigger body parts, especially the huge bellies on the guys who hold down the front lines.

“I hate them. They are built for thin guys,” Alex Boone, a 300-pound starting guard for the San Francisco 49ers, tells The Wall Street Journal. “It makes me look like I have big old love handles.”

They’re admittedly unflattering for the massive linemen. The Journal report shows the Seahawks’ Red Bryant, among the biggest of the big boys, and his huge frame stretching the new jersey to the limit.

But despite the complaints of some, Bryant tells 710 ESPN’s Bill Swartz he’s OK with the tight fit.

“I just put on what they give me,” Bryant says. “My wife, she loves the way I look in it, so I guess I say I like them.”

He’s clearly in the minority among the big guys.

“It makes me look fat,” Boone told the Journal. “And I’m not fat.”

When Boone’s wife first saw him in the new garb, she told him, “It looks like you ate a small baby.”

A Nike spokesman says the tight jerseys are designed for optimal performance, and come in a variety of sizes and cuts for different players.
