Seahawks coach Pete Carroll has been cautious when discussing whether Jamal Adams will be able to play in Saturday’s playoff game against the Los Angeles Rams after sustaining a left shoulder injury last Sunday.

Adams himself? Not so much.

What We Learned: Seahawks’ best move was one they didn’t make

“No question in my mind – I’m playing, man,” the Pro Bowl strong safety said during a press conference Wednesday. “Look, as long as these legs are moving, man, as long as my faith is with the man upstairs, which is very strong, I’m gonna be out there. There was never no doubt in my mind that I wasn’t playing, so let’s get that out there – I’m full-go.”

Injuries have been a big story of Adams’ season, but they haven’t stopped him from being one of Seattle’s best players on defense. He missed four games in the first half of the year with a groin injury and later on played though a banged-up right shoulder and two broken fingers. Despite that he registered 9.5 sacks for the Seahawks, which not only led the team but set a record for defensive backs in a season.

Carroll most recently spoke about Adams’ status on Tuesday, relaying that Seattle wouldn’t determine if he’s able to play until Saturday.

“He’s going to work through the week and see what he can get done and see if he’s OK,” Carroll said. “We’ll have to wait all the way up until game day to figure that out.”

Luke Willson back on Seahawks’ active roster

In other news Wednesday, tight end Luke Willson was signed from the Seahawks’ practice squad and added to the active roster, with cornerback Jayson Stanley going on injured reserve due to a hamstring injury suffered in Week 16.

Willson has had an eventful season at least when it comes to roster moves. He began the 2020 campaign with the Seahawks, playing in five games before being released in November. He then joined Baltimore for three games, making one reception on three targets for 12 yards, but was cut in December. He rejoined Seattle for his third stint with the team last week as a practice squad signing.
