Seahawks starting wide receiver Tyler Lockett landed on the practice report this week with a back injury, but head coach Pete Carroll said the veteran will be ready to play in Seattle’s Week 2 road game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

How did Jadeveon Clowney get No. 90 from Jarran Reed?

In a Friday morning’s Pete Carroll Show on KIRO Radio 97.3 FM, Dori Monson, Carroll told host Dori Monson that both Lockett and starting left guard Mike Iupati are expected to be active Sunday.

“(Lockett) is fine,” Carroll said. “He had a good day yesterday and came back and was fine again, so he did well. Mike Iupati is going to make it, I believe, and he had a nice week’s work. We’re excited about L.J. Collier having a chance as well. There’s a few guys who are going to miss this time around, but I’m hoping that we can have a good return from those guys and they can give us as boost.”

Lockett (back) was a limited participant in practice Thursday after sitting out Wednesday. Iupati (foot) and Collier (ankle) were full participants Thursday after being limited Wednesday.

Collier, Seattle’s 2019 first-round pick, hasn’t played since he was carted off the practice field in late July with a sprained ankle. The rookie defensive end returned to team practice for the first time this week.

“One thing, we won’t overplay him,” Carroll said of Collier. “We won’t play him too much. We want to make sure he gets some play time if he’s ready for us. Just get him going kind of; get him started. He just hasn’t had any background with us. So just the fact that he’s with us traveling and he’s got his (uniform) on… is a big step. And then we’ll try to break him in a little bit and just see how he handles it and what he looks like with the rest of the fellas.”
