Nov 20, 2018, 3:44 PM
It’s late-November, so it should be no surprise that a Jerry Dipoto trade has the Mariners in the middle of the MLB’s hot stove talk.
M’s trade Paxton to Yankees for 3 prospects, including Sheffield
That latest Dipoto trade came Monday, when he shipped left-handed ace James Paxton to the New York Yankees for three prospects, including 22-year-old lefty Justus Sheffield, who was the Yankees’ No. 1 prospect.
So where does the trade leave the Mariners’ roster? We got our duo of Mariners experts, Shannon Drayer and James “Boy Howdy” Osborn, together in the 710 ESPN Seattle Sports Lounge to discuss just that, breaking down the position groups along the way.
How does Sheffield and the other players acquired Monday fit in the Mariners’ plans? What is Seattle going to do at catcher in 2019? How is the Mariners’ focus on building for the future shaping up?
You can watch the full video of Drayer and Osborn’s conversation in the attached video.
