How do Mariners’ trades improve the team? 710’s Mariners Insiders examine

Jul 31, 2018, 1:28 PM

The MLB non-waiver trade deadline has come and gone, with the Mariners making four trades since last Friday. The additions are:

OF Cameron Maybin – 11-year veteran, World Series champion (2017, Houston), career .255 average, 33 stolen bases last season
RHP Adam Warren – six-year veteran, 2.70 ERA in 2018, multi-inning option
LHP Zach Duke – 13-year veteran, 3.62 ERA in 2018, lefty specialist with multiple arm angles
RHP Sam Tuivailala – second-year MLB pitcher, 3.69 ERA in 2018, power arm with potential for multiple inning outings

With those moves done, we fired up the 710 ESPN Seattle lounge, gathering Mariners insider Shannon Drayer, Brock and Salk’s Mike Salk and Seattle Sports at Night’s Curtis Rogers to discuss how general manager Jerry Dipoto’s deals impact the team. Watch the attached video to get the full scoop on the Mariners’ additions.
