The 24-year-old Diaz has earned the award for April after going 11 for 11 in save opportunities and allowing just one earned run in 14 1/3 innings (0.63 ERA). He also struck out 27 batters, which equals out to 16.95 strikeouts per nine innings, which led all AL relievers.
He tacked on another save Tuesday night to start May, giving an MLB-leading 12 on the year. He also sports a 0.59 ERA, 0.72 WHIP, 1.0 WAR and has allowed just two hits this season.
Diaz previously won the AL Reliever of the Month award in July 2017.
Despite debuting for Seattle in just 2016, he already is tied for seventh in team history in saves with Fernando Rodney at 64.
