Seahawks draft FIU QB Alex McGough in 7th round
The Seahawks used their final pick of the 2018 NFL Draft to add some depth at quarterback, selecting Florida International’s Alex McGough at No. 220 overall.
McGough threw for 2,791 yards and 17 touchdowns last season for the Golden Panthers. He finished his four-year college career with 9,091 yards and 65 touchdowns.
McGough becomes the fourth quarterback on Seattle’s roster, joining Russell Wilson, Austin Davis, and Stephen Morris – the latter of which is also a newcomer, signed to the Seahawks’ as a free agent earlier this spring. The Seahawks typically carry two quarterbacks for the year, and Wilson has yet to miss a game in his six-year career. However, the trio of Davis, Morris and McGough will add competition for the backup spot behind Wilson.
