The Seahawks locked up the NFC West by dispatching of the Los Angeles Rams Thursday at CenturyLink Field. Here’s what Rams players had to say after the game to the media:
Interim head coach John Fassel on Richard Sherman’s hit of QB Jared Goff: “If he is not out of bounds, it’s a good hit. It was on the far sideline, so I didn’t see it exactly. I just saw our quarterback running, not going out of bounds and is it going to get hit.”
Guard Rodger Saffold on how the week went for the team: “You can say it’s because we lost Fish (Coach Jeff Fisher), and the short turnaround, but that’s just B.S., man. We came out here prepared, expecting to win, and once again we didn’t execute. I’m tired of saying that over and over again.”
Wide receiver Tavon Austin on missed opportunities: “Like I always say, this game is played for 60 minutes but it boils down to one play. That’s how it always goes, not saying that’s what made us lose or anything. We had a couple times we could have thrown the ball to the end zone and we didn’t convert. Everything else started going against us, and that’s how it always happens. One bad thing happened and a hundred more are coming.”
Quarterback Case Keenum: “Seattle is good, and it literally is the 12th Man here. Those fans make it tough. I thought Jared did a good job of operating out of the huddle. I don’t think there were any delays of game. We had to take one time out, but that was a personnel issue. But a rookie coming in here for the first time, in probably one of the most hostile places to play, operationally I thought he did pretty well. We just didn’t execute.”
Guard Jamon Brown on staying motivated for the rest of the season: “I mean this is what we love to do. Loving the game is what keeps us motivated, and understanding that even when things aren’t going your way, we still have to go to work. We still have to continue to build, and there’s still hope and still promise going forward.”
Safety T.J. McDonald: “Guys have to play for their job. Of course we want to play for each other as brothers and as teammates, but guys are playing for their futures. I’m on a contract year. This is my future.”
