The Seattle Sounders are importing some of England’s Premier League to Major League Soccer.
The team introduced British Broadcasting Corporation veteran Arlo White on Wednesday as its new play-by-play man for television and radio.
The 36-year-old native of Leicester, England, has been a Premier League host for the last nine years. White has also called five Super Bowls for the BBC.
He jokes he will throw in references to “soccer” but will likely revert to “football” during games.
White replaces former Seattle SuperSonics announcer Kevin Calabro.
Calabro has a Seattle radio show and television commitments for basketball. The team wanted someone who could call every match.
