It’s a special honor any time you can represent your country. This week two members of Seattle Sounders FC were invited to the U.S. National team soccer camp in Arizona.
Brad Evans gets his second opportunity to play in red, white, and blue. The 26-year-old Arizona native has already appeared in four international matches, including a full 90 minutes against El Salvador in February of 2010.
Jeff Parke, 29, also recieved his first call in. The Pennsylvania product was Seattle’s most consistent defender in the 2011 season.
New U.S. coach Juergen Klinsma is looking for new talent as he rebuilds the program for this summer’s Olympic Games and future World Cups.
Both Sounders players hope to see action when the United States takes on Venezuela Jan. 21 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The Americans have another “friendly” Jan. 25 in Panama City, Panama.
