Washington’s Danny Shelton attending NFL Draft

Former Washington defensive tackle Danny Shelton is among 26 prospects who will attend the NFL Draft, the league announced Tuesday.
Shelton is one of three UW players who are considered likely first-round picks – cornerback Marcus Peters and linebacker Shaq Thompson are the others – but he’s the only one of that group who will attend the draft, which will run from April 30 to May 2.
Shelton said at UW’s pro day earlier this month that he was awaiting an invitation to the draft. He Tweeted a picture of that invitation Tuesday, expressing his gratitude.
The draft is in Chicago this year, which could be convenient for Shelton if he’s chosen by the Bears. That’s a widely projected scenario with the Bears owning the seventh overall pick and needing a nose tackle after switching to a 3-4 defensive front.
