Bishop Sankey will have a familiar face joining him at Tennessee Titans training camp.
Former Washington kicker Travis Coons has signed a free-agent deal with Tennessee, meaning both he and his Husky teammate Sankey, a second-round selection of the Titans in last weekend’s NFL Draft, will be competing for starting jobs in Nashville.
The Titans will have Coons battle Maikon Bonani to replace Rob Bironas as their kicker. Bironas was released by Tennessee in March after nine seasons with the team.
In 2013, Coons was named second-team All-Pac-12 as a punter and honorable mention All-Pac-12 as placekicker 2013. He made 62 of 63 extra points and 15 of 16 field goal attempts, including a career-long of 46 yards in a win over California.
