Video: Rick Rizzs makes barehanded catch from Mariners broadcast booth

Aug 4, 2016, 9:09 AM | Updated: 12:13 pm

Mariners broadcaster Rick Rizzs may be best known for his voice, but he showed Wednesday that he’s also got some pretty good hands.

Rizzs made an apparently painful barehanded catch from the booth on a third-inning foul ball off Norichika Aoki’s bat.

“Oh my goodness, that kinda hurt a little bit,” Rizzs said while shaking off his hands.

It wasn’t the first catch on-air for Rizzs, but it sure seemed like it based on broadcast partner Aaron Goldsmith’s animated reaction. The Mariners beat the Red Sox 3-1.

Here’s what Rizzs and Goldsmith had to say on the radio broadcast.
