New Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron had his first visit with 710 ESPN Seattle on Wednesday morning, joining Danny and Gallant to discuss his new role, what he wants to do with the Seahawks’ offense, and perhaps most important, his new quarterback.

“I couldn’t be more excited,” Waldron said when asked about the chance to work with Russell Wilson. “What can he do? I would say it’s just about everything.”
Waldron, who joins Seattle after three years as passing game coordinator for Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay’s offense, made it clear while talking to Danny O’Neil and Paul Gallant that he’s thinking a lot about how he can craft his system to be built around Wilson.
“With his competitive nature and getting a chance to speak with him a little bit about his big picture view of life and how he views what he wants to achieve, this is a guy who wants to be at the top of his game every single day no matter what day of the year it is,” Waldron said of Wilson. “I think that’s a great situation for myself obviously to walk into, so that’s where it’s just a matter now of, OK, we know he can do a lot of different things – how can we really start to structure this thing around him and create an offense where he feels comfortable with it, where he feels like he can have full ownership by that first game?”
Waldron had much more to discuss in the interview, which you can hear in the video at the top of this post, the audio player below or at this link.
