CenturyLink Field will get a new name just in time for the Seahawks-Cardinals game Thursday night.

The stadium will be called Lumen Field, to reflect a rebranding of CenturyLink to Lumen Technologies. The new name is pending approval later Thursday by the Washington State Public Stadium Authority.

This is the fourth name change for the stadium that opened in 2002 with the original name of Seahawks Stadium. Qwest Communications bought the naming rights in 2004. The name changed again, in 2011, after CenturyLink purchased Qwest.

The stadium is also home to the Seattle Sounders.

“Through a shared vision and commitment to serving the Seattle community, we are proud to enter a new era of world-class sports and entertainment with Lumen Field,” said Chuck Arnold, President, Seattle Seahawks and First & Goal Inc. “For nearly two decades, the stadium has made its mark as a premier Seattle venue, and a place for the community to experience thrilling victories, establish sacred traditions, and witness unforgettable moments together. We are excited to build upon that legacy and experience amazing things at Lumen Field for years to come.”
