The Seahawks have signed ex-Jets and Giants wide receiver Brandon Marshall, the team announced Wednesday. The team waived FB Marcus Martin in a corresponding move.

Marshall was reportedly signed to a one-year deal worth a maximum value of $2 million, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Martin will wear No. 15, according to Seahawks’ reporter John Boyle (wide receiver Keenan Reynolds, who was previously assigned No. 15, will wear No. 85).

The Seahawks hosted Marshall for a visit May 9. While 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard stated at the time that Seattle’s interest in Marshall was very real, rumors settled after the Seahawks entered their first week of OTAs without signing the veteran receiver.

“They absolutely feel like he has enough gas in the tank. It’s whether or not that body can hold up,” Huard said.

Marshall, 34, spent his 2017 season with the Giants. However, he played just five games before an ankle injury landed him on the injured reserve, and finished the year with 18 catches for 154 yards. Marshall underwent surgery on the injured ankle in October and was waived by the Giants in April after a failed physical.

The 6-feet-4, 229-pound Marshall has recorded at least 1,000 yards every year from 2007 to 2013 and is a six-time Pro Bowler.

Reporters could get their first look at Marshall Wednesday when the Seahawks host another open session of OTAs.
