Brock’s take: If Malik McDowell’s motor revved consistently, he would’ve been a top-10 pick. There were times at Michigan State where he looked like the most dominant defensive lineman in college football, but there were other times he flat-out fell asleep. The Seahawks’ decision to select him in the second round is consistent with their high-upside/high-risk draft mentality.
