The Mariners Hot Stove Show returns to the airwaves at 7 p.m. Tuesday night with the first show of the new year on 710 ESPN Seattle.

Drayer: The state of the Mariners’ roster going into 2020

Two hours of baseball talk brought to you by hosts Aaron Goldsmith, Dan Wilson, Shannon Drayer and Gary Hill will feature a conversation with Mariners catcher/first baseman Austin Nola, who will join the show from the Mariners Care Community Tour.

Nola has taken a long and interesting path to the big leagues that includes a late transition to catcher, but at long last finds himself exactly where he wants to be heading into 2020 as a player with a spot all but locked up on an Opening Day roster. The bonus: He should get spend much more time behind the plate. Get ready for some good catching talk with Nola and Wilson.

We’ve got the pitching side covered as well with a visit with bullpen coach Brian DeLunas, who spent 2019 as the organization’s director of pitching development and strategies before returning to the bullpen coach role for 2020. Who better to fill us in on the up-and-coming arms in the organization? Who should we keep an eye out for in 2020 and what pitching prospects have opened eyes? We should find out.

The show will also feature a tribute to a member of the Mariners broadcast family we lost late last year, Ron Fairly.

The Hot Stove Show will air from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday nights on 710 ESPN Seattle leading up to spring training.
