It’s back to business for the Seahawks as their bye comes to a close, and this week brings big injury updates and a potential roster move.

How Quandre Diggs improves Seahawks’ defense

Chief among Seattle’s injury concerns is a lower leg bruise for wide receiver Tyler Lockett. Lockett, who leads the team with 793 yards and six touchdowns, spent two nights at Stanford Hospital after sustaining the injury in a Week 10 win over the San Francisco 49ers. The move was a precautionary measure to monitor compartmental issues. On Monday afternoon, Carroll sounded optimistic that Lockett could play Sunday.

“He’s doing better,” Carroll said. “We’ll know later in the week his status. We’re hoping and planning on him being able to play but he has to show it to us. So, we’ll see.”

Less optimistic was the update for tight end Luke Willson, who exited Monday night’s game with a hamstring injury.

“Luke’s working at it,” Carroll said. “It’s going to take Luke a bit. I don’t think he’ll have a chance to make it back this week. We’ll see what happens though.”

The team can activate veteran tight end Ed Dickson (who began his season on the injured reserve list) to add depth at the position, but that would also require making a roster move.

“If (Willson is out), it’s a really good chance,” Carroll said of activating Dickson. “We’ve been waiting for the opportunity to get Ed to go. If that happens, we’re thinking that that’s where we’d go with this. We’ll give it a couple days here.”

Without Willson, Seattle has just one other tight end — Jacob Hollister — on the active roster, though lineman George Fant can also take snaps at tight end.
