The Seahawks added a second wide receiver in this year’s draft with West Virginia’s Gary Jennings. Jennings was Seattle’s first pick of Day 3 and their fourth pick overall after the team traded back to No. 120 overall in the fourth round.

The 6-feet-1, 214-pound Jennings was primarily a punt returner in his first two seasons with the Mountaineers. He saw increased production on offense in his junior season, when he finished with 1,096 yards and one touchdown. He led the team with 917 yards and a career-high 13 touchdowns in 2018, which earned him an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention.

The additions of Jennings and second-round pick D.K. Metcalf add depth to a Seahawks wide receiver corps that could be without longtime star and top target Doug Baldwin in 2019. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Friday that Baldwin may be unable to play again due to an accumulation of injuries.

“(Baldwin is) considering (retirement), yeah,” Seahawks general manager John Schneider said when asked about the report Friday. “But there’s a process to go through with that… we’re trying to respect Doug as much as we can.”
