A pair of offensive tackles were the first two players from colleges in Washington state taken in the 2019 NFL Draft: WSU’s Andre Dillard and Washington’s Kaleb McGary.

Dillard, the left tackle in Mike Leach’s Air Raid offense at Washington State, was selected No. 22 overall by the Philadelphia Eagles. Nine selections later it was McGary, the right tackle for Chris Petersen’s Huskies, going 31st overall to the Atlanta Falcons.

The 6-foot-5, 315-pound Dillard, a Woodinville native, started 39 of his 42 games played over four seasons at WSU. He is a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference selection, including as a first-teamer as a senior, and was a Sports Illustrated All-America second-team nomination and Associated Press All-America third-teamer in 2018.

Dillard, who followed in his father’s footsteps as a Cougars offensive lineman, allowed just one sack on 677 pass attempts during his senior season.

McGary, who hails from Fife and checks in at 6-7 and 317 pounds, won the Morris Trophy in 2018 as the Pac-12’s best lineman and was named first-team All-Pac-12 in both 2017 and 2018. He started all but six games over four years at Washington.
