The Seahawks may have finally found a long-term answer after three years of questions at the kicking position. And it’s a familiar name.

Seattle has agreed on a four-year deal with Jason Myers, a 2018 Pro Bowler with the New York Jets, according to ESPN’s Diana Russini.

Myers was with the Seahawks last offseason, joining the team on a reserve/future deal after being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars in October 2017. The Seahawks went with veteran Sebastian Janikowski over Myers after a competition in training camp, however, and Myers found his way to the Jets. For New York in 2018, Myers hit 33 of 36 field goals (91.7 percent), including 11 of 12 from 40-49 yards and 6 of 7 from 50 or more yards. He also connected on 30 of 33 extra points (90.9 percent). His six field goals of 50 or more yards tied for most in the league with Dallas kicker Brett Maher.

The 27-year-old Myers debuted in 2014 with Jacksonville, where he appeared in 38 games over three seasons. He played in college at Marist.

Myers sent a farewell tweet to New York prior to the reports of his deal with Seattle.

Myers is the first reported signing in free agency for the Seahawks, who lost six players before making an addition.
