SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

What is the one position that will continue to see roster turnover and churn for the Seahawks?

The Seahawks have experienced the most significant turnover on the roster – and, for that matter, coaching staff – yet under Pete Carroll and John Schneider. While some position groups are mostly set for 2018, others will experience quite a bit of shuffling and competition. But where will most of that churn take place?

Graziano: Seahawks had worst offseason in NFL, but there’s still promise

According to 710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard, it will be at wide receiver.

“I think the Keenan Reynolds move yesterday speaks to that,” Huard said during his Blue 42 segment of Brock and Salk. “The number of guys, and even bringing in Brandon Marshall for the physical, they’re going to continue to I think turnover every stone. And there’s usually the largest supply of those kind of guys, that are just a little bit in between or come in all shapes and sizes and speeds. And while Doug (Baldwin) and Tyler (Lockett) are absolutely locked in, Amara Darboh is a third round pick you think is going to have every opportunity, Jaron Brown got a couple million bucks, when it comes to how that sorts itself out in (spot) five, six, and possibly seven on that roster with special teams and the return game, I think you’re going to see a lot of competition and a lot of churn.”

Huard believes the Seahawks could continue to make moves at that position late into the preseason.

“Oh there’s no question. And let’s see how long Dez Bryant sits out there and what happens to his market value. And if a veteran guy gets released elsewhere, or a young guy that they really loved as an undrafted free agent doesn’t make it somewhere. And possibly the pass rush angle, Dadi Nicolas is there (now). I think those are the two spots you’re going to continue to see a whole lot of activity.”

Who is on the roster?

The Seahawks are carrying 11 wide receivers on the roster heading into OTAs next week. That list includes six returning veterans or practice squad players (Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett, Amara Darboh, David Moore, Tanner McEvoy, and Cyril Grayson), two acquired via free agency (Jaron Brown, Keenan Reynolds), one via trade (Marcus Johnson), and two tryout players (Caleb Scott and Damore’ea Stringfellow).
