Manny Acta will move from Mariners third base coach to bench coach in 2018.

The Mariners announced Tuesday morning that bench coach Tim Bogar and first base coach Casey Candaele will not be part of the coaching staff next season.

Manny Acta will shift from third base coach to bench coach in 2018, and Scott Brosius, who served as an assistant coach in 2017, will take over as third base coach. Chris Prieto, who was special projects coach and responsible for replay in 2017, will be first base coach.

Drayer: Servais ready to find solutions to what held M’s back

Bogar, who spent two seasons as manager Scott Servais’ right-hand man, was strongly considered for the Mariners’ managerial post when general manager Jerry Dipoto arrived before the 2016 season.

Candaele joined the Mariners’ staff after five seasons working in the Texas Rangers minor league system.

Hitting coach Edgar Martinez and pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre Jr. will both return in their current roles, and Nasuel Cabrera will be back in a to-be-determined role. Cabrera started 2017 as Seattle’s batting practice pitcher and took on interim bullpen coach duties when Mike Hampton left the team midseason.
