LISTEN: Ethan Pocic on versatility, adjusting to pace of the NFL, and playing for coach Ed Orgeron

Rookie offensive lineman Ethan Pocic joined Brock and Salk Wednesday to talk about his versatility, adjustment to the pace of the NFL, and what it was like being coached under LSU’s Ed Orgeron.

Pocic’s versatility – one of the reasons Seattle took him with the 58th overall pick in this year’s draft – has become perhaps his most useful trait now that Seattle must make adjustments on the offensive line following a season-ending injury to left tackle George Fant. Pocic, for his part, takes pride in his ability to play multiple positions.

“I’m really just trying to find my role right now, so, wherever they put me,” he said.

Pocic is prepared for a learning curve; he said he already notices a change of pace between college and the NFL. While his former teammate, running back Leonard Fournette, said the NFL does not feel any faster than the SEC, Pocic feels like the pace is much faster.

“I’m not going to agree with that quote,” he said with a laugh, adding that he’s friends with Fournette. “But might be for him.

“There’s definitely some correlation (between the pace of the NFL and SEC) but it’s every down, every rep, and it’s everybody on the defense, it’s not just one or two guys.”

Pocic also talked about LSU coach Ed Orgeron and former coach Les Miles, and what Seahawks’ defensive lineman has been the toughest to defend against. Listen to the entire interview with “Brock and Salk” above or here.
