Mitch Haniger was activated from the 10-day disabled list and in the lineup for the Mariners’ game Saturday against Tampa Bay, but his return came at the same time another outfielder hit the DL for Seattle.

Speedy center fielder Jarrod Dyson, who has been bothered lately with a groin issue, was placed on the 10-day DL Saturday morning with a right groin strain. The move is retroactive to Thursday.

Seattle made one more roster move Saturday, recalling Casey Lawrence from Triple-A Tacoma to join the bullpen and optioning fellow right-hander Sam Gaviglio back to the Rainiers.

Haniger last appeared in a game for the Mariners on July 29, when he was struck in the face by a pitch. He underwent plastic surgery to repair his upper lip and recently spent six games with Tacoma on a rehab assignment, going 4 for 21 with two homers for the Rainiers. The 26-year-old right fielder is hitting .255 with seven home runs, 24 RBIs and a .782 on-base plus slugging percentage in 58 games with the Mariners this year. This was his second DL stint of the season, and he struggled in 37 games following his return from an oblique injury, hitting just .203 since his return on June 11.

Dyson, 33, is the American League’s stolen base leader with 28. He’s hitting .255 with five homers and 56 runs scored in his first season with Seattle. Though Dyson plays stellar defense, the Mariners won’t lose too much in that department with Guillermo Heredia and Leonys Martin both available to take over in center in Dyson’s absence.
