Felix Hernandez will enter a start with an ERA below 4.00 for the first time since April in Tuesday’s 7:10 game against the Red Sox on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Hernandez has driven down his ERA to 3. 88 thanks to three straight starts where he allowed one earned run or less, including a dazzling seven-inning outing on July 20 against the Yankees in which he yielded just one run on three hits and two walks while striking out nine.

The Mariners will be a little more right-handed than usual in their lineup against Boston southpaw starter Drew Pomeranz, with Guillermo Heredia in center field over Jarrod Dyson, who is still nursing a hyperextended toe.
