It was very apparent Ken Griffey Jr. wanted the game-winner today, as the Mariners faced off against his former club, the Cincinnati Reds.
Kip Wells had a hard time getting his pitches under control, as he fell behind in the count 3-0. Griffey swung at two sure-fire ball-fours, putting the ultimate pressure on Wells.
But all know how that story ends – Ken Griffey Jr. walk-off and happy crowd of 9,009.
Rick Rizzs called it too – he didn’t say it on the air, but he was pointing to right field before Griffey took his first pitch. He called it and I am witness to it – have to give him credit for those who didn’t see it (or don’t believe him when he says he did it).
Perfect end to a week with the Mariners. Are you psyched for the season or what?! Rally Staches, unite!
