The Seahawks will have star receiver Tyler Lockett (hip) against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 4, but 2019 first-round pick L.J. Collier, a defensive end, is a healthy scratch for the third time in four games.

Seahawks’ Rashaad Penny to IR, Parkinson and Ogbuehi activated

Starting right tackle Brandon Shell (ankle), defensive end Benson Mayowa (neck) and rookie receiver Dee Eskridge (concussion) were all ruled out of the contest prior to Sunday. Joining those three and Collier on the Seahawks’ inactives list are reserve cornerback John Reid and offensive lineman Jamarco Jones.

Jones’ inclusion on the inactives list is an interesting one. Shell missed Week 3 with the ankle injury and Jones started in his place, but he missed some time during the game due to a stomach bug. That caused undrafted rookie tackle Jake Curhan to see his first NFL action. Jones was not listed on the team’s final injury report this week.

Curhan could play again with Shell and Jones out, but it likely means that Cedric Ogbuehi, who started five games for the Seahawks in 2020 when Shell missed time, will get the starting nod in his first game of 2021. Ogbuehi started the year on injured reserve due to a biceps injury.

Collier, who started all 16 games for the Seahawks in 2020 after playing sparingly as a rookie in 2019, has only played once this season and will sit yet again in Santa Clara.

Lockett was a limited participant on Wednesday and missed practice Thursday, but he was a full participant on Friday. Lockett being active is good news as the 49ers are very beat up in the secondary. Starting cornerback K’Waun Williams was ruled out with a calf injury while backup corner Josh Norman, a former Pro Bowler, is also out with a chest injury.

Also out for the 49ers with an injury is rookie running back Elijah Mitchell (shoulder), who has emerged as the team’s lead back.

Reserve rookie offensive guard Aaron Banks and backup defensive lineman Zach Kerr round out San Francisco’s inactives list.

The good news for the 49ers is that star tight end George Kittle (calf) and 2020 first-round defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw (knee) will play. Both were listed as questionable.

Heaps: Seahawks’ offense must start playing ‘full 60 minutes’ vs 49ers
