The Seahawks will be down three key contributors when they take on the visiting Tennessee Titans as Seattle looks to open the 2021 season with a 2-0 start.

What Seahawks need to do vs Titans to build on Week 1 performance

Rookie wide receiver Dee Eskridge (concussion), running back Rashaad Penny (calf) and defensive tackle Bryan Mone (elbow) are all out against the Titans due to their respective injuries.

Joining those three on Seattle’s inactive list are third-string quarterback Jake Luton, rookie offensive tackle Stone Forsythe and cornerback John Reid.

With Eskridge down, the Seahawks will turn to Freddie Swain and Penny Hart as receivers behind Tyler Lockett and DK Metcalf on the depth chart against Tennessee.

Penny’s absence opens the door for DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer and Alex Collins as secondary backs behind starter Chris Carson. Collins was a healthy scratch in Seattle’s Week 1 win over the Colts.

Mone played well for the Seahawks last week and he played 46% of Seattle’s defensive snaps compared to Al Woods’ 36%. Woods started that game alongside Poona Ford at defensive tackle.

With Mone out, the Seahawks have called up defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche from the practice squad. Mone is one of just three defensive tackles on Seattle’s active roster.

For the Titans, starting linebacker Jayon Brown was ruled out earlier in the week, but the big news is that starting left tackle Taylor Lewan is inactive.

According to Jim Wyatt, who covers the Titans for the team’s website, Lewan appeared to injure his knee during pregame warmups. With Lewan out, Tyler Sambrailo is likely the next man up as he’s listed as Lewan’s backup.
