The Seahawks are bringing in another veteran wide receiver for a look during training camp.

Terrell Owens will work out for Seattle on Monday, which is an off day for the team.

Owens, 38, is one of the most prolific receivers in NFL history but has not played since 2010, when he caught 72 passes for 983 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bengals. He didn’t play last season after having surgery on his left knee.

The Seahawks have had a few notable veterans in camp competing with some of their younger receivers. Earlier Sunday they released 31-year-old Antonio Bryant, who hasn’t played since 2009. Braylon Edwards, who’s coming off an injury-plagued 2011 season, is in training camp on what general manager John Schneider has described as an extended tryout.

In eight games for the Allen Wranglers of the Indoor Football League, Owens had 35 catches for 420 yards and 10 touchdowns. He was released and lost an ownership stake in the team in May.

Owens is second in NFL history with 15,934 receiving yards and 158 receiving touchdowns, trailing Jerry Rice in both categories. He has made six Pro Bowls in 15 seasons.

The troubled receiver drew the ire of Seahawks players and fans a decade ago when he caught the winning touchdown in the fourth quarter of a 28-21 Monday night game in Seattle. He then pulled a Sharpie pen from his sock, signed the ball in the end zone and handed it to his financial adviser in an end zone seat.
