Seahawks coach Pete Carroll went through his team’s lengthy list of injuries during a press conference on Monday afternoon, and there’s more urgency than normal regarding Seattle’s banged-up players due to their next game being just three days away.

Carroll Show: Turnovers making it ‘too easy’ for Seahawks’ opponents

Let’s go through what the Seahawks are dealing with ahead of their Thursday night showdown with the Arizona Cardinals.

• The biggest surprise is the news that wide receiver Tyler Lockett is fighting through a knee sprain. That first became apparent earlier Monday afternoon when Seattle released a practice report that listed Lockett as sitting out. It’s worth noting that the report was an estimate as teams don’t customarily practice the day after a game.

Carroll didn’t sound particularly concerned about Lockett’s status for this week.

“He’s already had it checked out and MRI’ed and all that kinda stuff, so he (has) a little bit of discomfort, a little bit of swelling today,” Carroll said, “but it’s not a serious knee injury so we’ll look to see how he does day to day and take it to Thursday.”

• Seattle may be thinnest right now at center. Starter Ethan Pocic missed Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams and Carroll said he had not cleared concussion protocol as of Monday afternoon. Kyle Fuller, who filled in at the position Sunday, suffered an ankle injury himself.

“Kyle did fine yesterday. He hurt his ankle and he’s gonna be hobbling a little bit today. We think he can make it back,” Carroll said.

Seattle’s head coach also gave Fuller some of the credit for the Seahawks keeping Rams All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald in check. Donald had no sacks, no tackles and two QB hits Sunday.

“I thought we did as good a job as we’ve ever done against Aaron. He’s an incredible player and didn’t get the marks that he normally gets. Didn’t show up in the end results because they still got us sacked a few couple times, but he had a lot to do with that.”

Should Fuller not be able to play Thursday, Carroll said Jamarco Jones is Seattle’s third-string center.

• Last week, Carroll said starting running back Chris Carson (foot sprain) was closer to returning than backup Carlos Hyde (hamstring). That has since flipped.

“I’m told that Carlos is going to go today in our work,” Carroll said. “Chris is working to get back, he’s trying to make it, Carlos is a little bit ahead of him now. … I can’t tell you what’s going to happen Thursday night yet, but both those guys are trying hard this week to get back.”

The Seahawks have struggled all around offensively in their back-to-back losses, and Carroll said the state of the running game is a factor.

“It has felt somewhat out of balance the last couple weeks, and I would just like to get it back into shape so everything fits together like we like it most,” he said.

• In the secondary, it’s “not clear yet” that starting cornerback Shaquill Griffin (hamstring) could return Thursday, Carroll said. He added that fellow cornerback Neiko Thorpe, Seattle’s leader on special teams, “will not make it back” from a core injury.

Then there’s Jamal Adams, who was a bit of a one-armed man after suffering a shoulder injury Sunday in Los Angeles. Carroll was impressed with his play and said the star safety and Seahawks sacks leader has every intention of playing against Arizona.

“He says he’s playing and he’s ready to go,” Carroll said. “He got banged up pretty good and played really with one arm for the most part and did a marvelous job of getting through it. There was a couple plays he couldn’t make that he wished he could have, but it was just because of his shoulder. He played really hard and got after it.”

The Seahawks kick off against Arizona at CenturyLink Field at 5:20 p.m. Thursday. The game will air on 710 ESPN Seattle and KIRO Radio 97.3 FM beginning with the pregame show at 2 p.m.
