For the second consecutive year, the Seahawks are facing the possibility of losing one or both of their coordinators.

That much became clear on Monday as multiple reports stated that the Vikings have requested permission to interview offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell as well as his defensive counterpart, Dan Quinn, who’s also a candidate for the Browns’ head-coaching vacancy.

It wasn’t so much a matter of whether or not Quinn and Bevell would garner interest for head-coaching positions but which teams would consider Seattle’s coordinators. That began taking shape on Monday as five head coaches were fired, pushing to six the number of teams in the market for a replacement.

Assistant coaches on teams with first-round byes – like the Seahawks – can interview for head-coaching jobs this weekend.

When asked Monday about Quinn specifically, Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he would help his defensive coordinator however he could while ensuring that Seattle’s playoff run remains the priority.

“The fact that teams want to come and talk to Dan or any of our coaches, it’s a credit to our program. How it works out and all that, we have no idea. But we’ll do this with all the care of what’s going on here,” Carroll said. “This is first and foremost, and all of our guys understand that. But also, I’ll help our guys any way that I can to fulfill the dreams that they have for themselves and proudly go about that.”

Last year, Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley became the Jaguars’ head coach while Bevell returned after interviewing with Arizona and Chicago.
