Recent appearances by two members of The Seattle Times’ editorial board on “Brock and Salk” have compelled the Mayor’s Office to clear up what it calls misconceptions about the proposed NBA/NHL arena in Seattle.
Editorial page editor Kate Riley and editorial writer Bruce Ramsey separately joined “Brock and Salk” last week to discuss concerns about the proposed arena. City Budget Director Beth Goldberg, citing those conversations, responded Monday in a blog post on the city’s website.
“I listened to these broadcasts and was surprised and dismayed to hear how little they knew about or understood the actual proposal,” Goldberg wrote. “The Times has a basic responsibility to get their facts straight — even if those facts don’t help them advance their particular view of reality. It frustrated me enough that I wrote down a point by point correction.”
