First thing is first…The Hot Stove League Show comes up at 7 pm on 710 ESPN, sports.mynorthwest.com and mariners.com. Big show planned with Jack Zduriencik to join us right off the bat to talk about the Felix Hernandez deal. Brendan Ryan, Robby Thompson, Jeff Idelson from the Hall of Fame and mlb.com’s columnist Richard Justice who will give us a look at the Astros all are scheduled to join us.

I have to think this may have been one of the busiest days ever for the Mariners media relations staff with the flurry of moves that took place. The biggest of course was the Felix Hernandez deal but in case you missed it, here is a quick update of the rest of the announced moves.

-RHP Jon Garland has been officially signed to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.

-RHP Cameron Loe has also been signed to a minor league deal with invite to spring training.

-LHP Joe Saunders signed to a major league deal and added to the 40 man roster.

-Mike Carp designated for assignment to make room for Saunders on the 40 man roster.

An eventful reporting day to say the least. Tomorrow the pitchers and catchers take the field for the first time. They will be missing one pitcher as Felix has returned for his press conference which can be heard on 710 ESPN at 2 pm Wednesday.
