Richard spent the past three seasons as Seahawks defensive coordinator but was relieved of his duties last week. Seattle has turned to Ken Norton Jr. to be the new Seahawks defensive coordinator.
As passing game coordinator for head coach Jason Garrett, Richard would replace Matt Eberflus in Dallas.
Richard, 38, began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at USC in 2008, and he followed Pete Carroll to the Seahawks in 2010. He was first Seattle’s assistant defensive backs coach, promoted to cornerbacks coach in 2011 and defensive backs coach in 2012 before becoming defensive coordinator in 2015.
