Mariners fans already know who King Felix, Boomstick and Big Maple are. But what about T.A.Z., Hubba Hubba or El Mambo?
They’ll get a chance to learn during Seattle’s series in New York against the Yankees from Aug. 25 through Aug. 27, as the team will be wearing uniforms with nicknames chosen by the players themselves on the back of their jerseys. It’s a part of the MLB’s new Players Weekend, which also comes with unique uniforms featuring alternate colors and logos.
Big Maple. Boomstick. Don't You Know.

While there are plenty of standout nicknames chosen by Mariners players, arguably the funniest would be Corey’s Brother, which will be worn by Kyle Seager. It appears that Seager, a one-time All-Star and Gold Glove winner, is poking fun at the fact that his younger brother, Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager, has taken the league by storm since making his MLB debut in 2015, winning the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2016 and making the NL All-Star team in each of the last two seasons.
