Robinson Cano will get a rest and Danny Espinosa will make his first start in a Mariners uniform in the team’s series finale against the Boston Red Sox at 12:40 on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Cano played all 13 innings of the Mariners’ 6-5 walk-off win on Tuesday night. Seattle’s second baseman has struggled a bit since winning the MLB All-Star Game MVP award on July 11, hitting .250 in the 12 games since the second half of the season began.
Espinosa will play second base and hit ninth for the Mariners. After being released by the Angels earlier this season, he joined the M’s on Monday and made his team debut on Tuesday night, coming in as a pinch runner and staying in to play first base.
On the mound will be rookie Andrew Moore for Seattle against Red Sox ace Chris Sale.
Coverage begins on 710 ESPN Seattle with the pregame show at 11:30. Here is the Mariners’ full lineup.
