The Seahawks have claimed Mike Davis off waivers from the San Francisco 49ers to add to their depth at running back.
Davis, a fourth-round pick of the 49ers in 2015, had 108 yards and a touchdown on 54 carries over two seasons with San Francisco. The 24 year old will join a corps of 11 tailbacks in Seattle that includes Eddie Lacy, Thomas Rawls, C.J. Prosise and Alex Collins.
The 5-foot-9, 217-pound Smith starred at South Carolina in college, rushing for 2,440 yards and 22 touchdowns over three years. He was cut loose by San Francisco last week after the 49ers traded for Kapri Bibbs and drafted Joe Williams.
