710 ESPN Seattle’s Brock Huard is proud to announce the debut of his new podcast, Above & Beyond.
Listen to intimate stories about how champions deal with their greatest professional adversities. It’s stories of faith beyond just a sound bite.
On the first episode, Huard sits down with his friend and former Seahawks quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck. From growing up with Christian parents to spending time at Green Bay with Reggie White to running away from baptism, Hasselbeck shares some of the most important moments from his faith and sports journey.
“It wasn’t probably until the NFL, that I was drafted to the Green Bay Packers when I really saw what I was hoping to be lived out,” Hasselbeck said of his faith as a young man. “I should have seen it in my dad because he’s a perfect example, but I didn’t see it.”
Hasselbeck said his perception of Jesus was more about pastel colors, Easter, and a guy in a white robe with long flowing hair. Hearing teammates like Reggie White talk about Jesus as a carpenter and fisherman helped Hasselbeck make sense of religion.
