The Seahawks’ list of inactive players for tonight’s wild-card game against Detroit includes no major surprises and five healthy scratches.
Defensive tackle Tony McDaniel and running and C.J. Prosise are out, as expected. They were the only two players listed on Seattle’s final injury report. The other five inactives are wide receiver Kasen Williams, running back Terrence Magee, linebacker Ronald Powell, offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo and tight end Nick Vannett.
Bradley Sowell is active, a change from the last two games after he lost his starting job at right tackle to Garry Gilliam and was inactive in favor of Odhiambo, a rookie third-round pick who can play both guard and tackle. Sowell will be Seattle’s third tackle tonight, which means he’ll play in case of an injury and presumably in heavy personnel packages that call for an extra offensive lineman.
With Magee and Prosise out, Seattle’s two active tailbacks behind starter Thomas Rawls are rookies Alex Collins and J.D. McKissic. Coach Pete Carroll said this week that 20 carries is a target number for Rawls in this game, which is a clear indication that Seattle still considers him the primary option even though Collins has been more productive of late.
With McDaniel out because of a concussion he suffered last week against San Francisco, John Jenkins is active for the first time in a month. He will be Seattle’s third defensive tackle behind starters Ahtyba Rubin and rookie Jarran Reed.
