THE LEAD: Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times joined the show to talk about some big Mariner news as the L.A. Dodgers have inquired about Cliff Lee’s availability. Here’s what he had to say:
“The Dodgers certainly have expressed to the Mariners their interest in Cliff Lee…they wouldn’t be alone–there are lots of teams that would love to have Cliff Lee in their rotation. At this point, the Mariners are telling teams, ‘ We’re not ready to move him .’ The AL West is not a very good division…and there’s nothing stopping them from getting on a run and getting back in the race. A few weeks from now, that might change.”
